Rabbi David Segal was born and raised in Houston, TX, where his family attended Congregation Emanu El. After graduating from Princeton University, where he majored in Classics and Jewish Studies, he worked at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington, DC for two years. During his time at HUC, David has been blessed to serve as Student Rabbi in a number of settings, including: Bates College Hillel in Lewiston, ME; Temple Israel in Uniontown, PA; Princeton University Hillel in Princeton, NJ; and, for the past two years, Beth Haverim Shir Shalom in Mahwah, NJ.

During rabbinic school, David spent summers interning as a hospital chaplain in Seattle, WA and as a community organizer with the URJ's Just Congregations in Boston, MA. In addition to school and internships, David is also an alumnus of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship, where he continues to gain valuable leadership experience and build relationships with Jewish professionals across denominational lines. For years, David and his family visited Aspen in the summer to enjoy the scenery, the climate, and the Music Festival. David is looking forward to returning and making his home in the Roaring Fork Valley, along with his wife and co-clergy, Cantor Rollin Simmons. After college, she moved to Cambridge, MA where she explored various career paths in architecture, visual arts, cantorial soloing, and special education. In recent summers, Rollin participated in a chaplain training program at a community hospital outside of Seattle, WA and worked as the cantorial intern at her home congregation in Boston. Rollin is married to her best friend and now colleague Rabbi David Segal, and is beyond thrilled to become a part of the Roaring Fork Valley community!
